The company issuing our property insurance package is the Heritage insurance company. This policy does not cover the personal property of the unit owner. The majority of our units are in Zone X. There are areas in Bluff Oak, Arrow Wood, Honeylocust, and Buttonbush that are in Zone A and Zone AE.
We also have catastrophic sinkhole coverage on the buildings through our property insurance company. Mr. Mitchell has advised that to date he has not seen or read anything about increases in Commercial Multi-Unit Residential, i.e., Condo Association Property Coverage/Premiums being affected due to sinkhole coverage, not to say it will not happen...
Unit owners are recommended to obtain, at their own expense, flood insurance and insurance coverage for the interior of their unit as follows: personal property, liability and living expenses. The policy to cover these items would be an HO-6 Condominium Unit Owners Policy or Homeowners 6 Unit Owners. (They are one and the same.) These policies would cover the unit interior (floor, wall, celing finishes, paint, wall paper, carpet, tile, etc. in addition to appliances, electrical fixtures and cabinets.)
